Gwenno Morgan is a Welsh neo-classical artist, pianist and film composer, originally from Bangor, North Wales, now based in London.

 

Her debut album, gwyw, co-produced with Belgian composer Arthur Brouns, was shortlisted for Welsh Album of the Year 2025. Her highly anticipated second album, gwreiddiau, arrives 18 September 2026. The record unfolds as a paired cycle of eight melodies. Each theme appears first in its most intimate form - solo piano - before re-emerging in expanded orchestral and synthesised arrangements. The music moves like memory itself: fragile and close at first, then blooming into something wider, cinematic and dreamlike.

 

​Her music has been championed on BBC Radio 1, Radio 3 and Radio Wales, receiving praise from prominent figures such as Hannah Peel, Sian Eleri, and Adam Walton.

Alongside her work as a solo artist, Gwenno is also a film and media composer, writing original scores for film, radio, and media. She has a distinctive musical voice that resonates across her work, paired with a unique ability to immerse the listener or viewer in the world of each project she tackles. Her score for Waiting for Burton earned her a Best Composer nomination at the It's My Shout Awards 2026, and was broadcast on BBC Two Wales. Her music video for soar has received multiple selections at international dance film festivals.

 

Gwenno holds a Bachelor's degree in Music Performance from the University of Leeds, where she spent a year abroad at the University of North Texas, and a Master's in Creative Practice from Goldsmiths, University of London.

As a skilled classical pianist and keyboardist, Gwenno has performed with both the Welsh Pops Orchestra and the BBC National Orchestra of Wales.
